I saw these on public TV back when they were originally released. Each piece was set in a visual/virtual space. As a musician-artist the combination of site and sound drew me into a deeper appreciation for Ma’s playing and for Bach’s work. Basically, these films were my introduction to Yo-Yo Ma. I would not have “caught on” nearly as quickly without them. As with most good things in life the journey is as important as the destination, and these films represent an intriguing fusion of visual dimension & texture with very moving musical performances. The realism of the immense Carceri prison floored me, and the slow pans and 360s around Ma as he played “there” were awesome. If you have a good sound system, draw the shades and crank it.

Some people gave low ratings to these DVDs because they expected concert footage. Obviously they didn’t read Amazon’s product description. (Duh!!) No prevarication there.

Catcher in the Rye by J.D Salinger is a story that can make anyone smile. The main character, Holden Caulfied, is a troubled teen that is yet again, expelled from another haughty boarding school. Holden cannot find the motivation to succeed in school because he feels he does not have a purpose. Why apply yourself if you don’t know your place in life? Holden struggles with his inner-self, battling his own mind, and trying to understand his purpose in life as a teenage boy. Holden’s difficulty in comprehending his place in the world as a young boy is what makes this story unviversally relatable.

After Holden is asked to leave Pencey High School after winter break [expelled], Holden ditches school early to take a little “vacation” to New York City; he packs and leaves by train in the hopes of enjoying himself before returning home to his parent’s wrath. In the few days he spends in New York , he experiences the city’s nightlife through strippers, bars, and night clubs. In contrast, he also spends his free time by revisiting his childhood, reuniting himself with old friends and visiting sentimental places. Holden seems to have a lot of friends, although it is obvious he is not confident about friendships. Holden degradingly numbers off girls throughout the story and therefore his character becomes bothersome. However most of the time it is very easy to sympathize for Holden as he is in deep distress, and he feels that he is surrounded by a bunch of “phonies”. No matter who he associates himself with, whether it is an old friend or a stripper, he feels out of place. The more Holden observes and aquaints himself with humankind in New York City, the more he realizes he is different, and the more he feel like he is without purpose. His inner-struggles and battling of the mind eventually peaks causing for a catchy ending. However, the author does not fill the ending with detail and it can be very frusterating.

Love my Itouch and service, but disappointed about the (FREE) shipping I should of received, it was filled with join free with hidden $$$$ attached. The product was over that cost for shipping too. My neighbor got this only 1 1/2 months before and got the free shipping….but when I ordered it. BAM, there it was. Not pleased about that at all. The Itouch is awesome.

Got as a gift along with NAV and couldn’t be happier. Going 80+mph on highway or curvy roads the grip held tight and there was no movement at all. Much better than the window mounts because you easily hide it under your seat and not draw the attention of would-be NAV thiefs.

Had Office 2000 previously but purchased the Office Home and Student 2007 to make sure I was prepared for online classes. Am not happy with this product. Too many changes,hard to find simple things like changing the font. Office assistant is gone. I have to go online to get help. Hopefully it is just a learning curve but I really miss my Office 2000.

I had a regular scale which only gave me whole pounds. One day I would weigh 140, the next I would weigh 141. Did I gain a pound? No. I actually weighed 140.8 the first day and 141.2 the next. With this scale I can see exactly how much I weigh, which is encouraging to me since I have lost 137 pounds so far, and the weight is coming off more slowly now that I am nearing my goal.
Love the design, it is a very sleek, nice looking scale (oh and easy to keep clean). The numbers are not large or thick enough for me to see without glasses on – but I am far from having 20/20 vision. I like that the number flashes to tell you your weight is done. You can then get off the scale and look at it more closely. My sister (who does not wear glasses) can clearly see the numbers easily, so for you who are not vision-impaired – not a problem.
I would highly recommend this scale to anyone – especially if you are trying to lose weight. It is encouraging to see any weight loss – even if it is less than one pound – to know you are still losing! I wish I had bought this a long time ago!

Good product, however I am waiting for the 2010 Student Office download information that was promised with the sale.

This is an excellent product. Connects easily to a tv and setup is fast. Definitely opt to get a second controller. Along with the amusement of playing video games, this unit works flawlessly with Netflix. Great activity for parties and social events.
